The footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to receive the Golden Boots trophy from UEFA inĀ  Madeira, birthplace of the current Manchester United player, in tribute to the father who is deceased.

According to the Wednesday edition of the “Jornal da Madeira,” the young “craque” the current European champions and English, which vai be awarded for being the best scorer of the European championships, took the premise granted by UEFA that gives it the right of choice of where they will receive the trophy.

Dolores Aveiro, mother of Cristiano Ronaldo, confirmed the decision, saying in statements to the RDP, that the intention of the child is “honor his father.”

The place where the gala will be held will be the Hall of Congresses of the Madeira Casino, with a date yet to be defined, and probably to 29 or August 30.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to stand out in the service of Manchester United, which ended this season with 39 goals identified, eight of which counts towards the Champions League.

Eusebius (1967/68 and 1972-73) and Fernando Gomes (1982/83 and 1984-85) were the other Portuguese players already winners of this trophy. Even the Brazilian Mario Jardel in the 1998-99 season, when acting in the service of Portugals FC Porto, received the boots of gold.
